Welcome to The Gould Rush!

As a tribute to the Scottish pioneers, it is with great pleasure we welcome you to Gould's first general store, in the municipality of Lingwick Township . Built around 1850, it was the center of  many busy activities.

The loving restoration of The Gould Rush is a tribute to the Scots’ determination to establish this village in 1837. At the beginning of the century, Lingwick Township was home to some 800 people, both Scots and Quebecers, in Gould and the neighbouring village of Saint-Marguerite.

The Jane C. Ross House, beside the store, and the McAuley House, down the hill, offer accomodations. Including the store, The Gould Rush offers 12 comfortable guest rooms. Packages are available.

After the first closing in its history, the James Ross store is alive again!

The restorers, Daniel Audet and Jacques Cloutier, welcome you !
